SPEAKER PROFILE: Terry Whenham

Speaker Bio
“You had a Great Uncle who died on the Somme”. These words were said to Terry by his Dad, who had served in the Royal Army Service Corps during World War, when he was a young boy. It was the start of a journey that changed Terry’s life.
Fast forward to the present day and Terry is now an battlefield guide and WW1 family researcher with 20 years’ experience of guiding and touring the Western Front.
Guiding and researching is a hobby for Terry rather than a job. He is a volunteer fundraiser for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the national charity of the British Army, and has raised over £50,000 for veterans and their families.
Terry donates all fees from his work to the charity.
In 2021, Terry became a volunteer speaker for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and in 2018, was a guide on the iconic RBL/GP90 Western Front tour, whilst working for Leger, the largest tour during the WW1 Centenary.
